Be a Part of the 2010 South Carolina Campground Cookoff!

Contestant applications are now being accepted. Teams will compete for awards and prizes in this cooking event where contestants prepare their favorite campfire recipe cooked over open fire or charcoal. These recipes will be judged by a panel of celebrity chefs. Please complete the application form in its entirety and sign at the bottom acknowledging you have read the attached rules and regulations.

To register for the event:

1) Call Calhoun Falls State Recreation Area at 864-447-8267 to reserve your campsite, pay your campsite fees and pay your entry fee after January 1, 2010. The entry fee for the contest is $45.
2) You must download the application and return it to the address below before you are officially entered in the contest.
3) Minimum 2 night stay at Calhoun Falls State Recreation Area required to be entered in the contest.
4) Only one entry per team in one category. Limit of one recipe total per contestant team.
5) Submit your application with the $45 fee and recipe to Calhoun Falls State Recreation Area at the address below.
6) Open only to amateurs. No commercial or professionals.
7) Must be 18 years old to enter.
8) Only two people per team.
9) Decision of the judges is final.
10) Two categories, Main Dish and Dessert will be judged.
11) Prizes will be awarded in each category - 1st Place-$500, 2nd Place-$300 and 3rd Place-$200.

I have read the rules and regulations for the South Carolina Campground Cookoff including providing permission for use of photography, recipes or interviews of all team members for future marketing and promotion, and agree to abide by them. I also understand and accept that all judges’ decisions are final. Entry fee is non-refundable. Event campsite cancellation must be received by September 1, 2010. Any refund for campsite will be handled by guidelines set forth by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism.
